Your peace of mind matters too!
When it comes to the topic of peace of mind, I truly believe that many of us have been living such busy and hectic lives that we wouldn’t recognize if it came knocking on our door. Peace of Mind which is a more personal form of ‘Peace’, is something we seem to understand but have a tough time putting into words. So, let me ask you: “What is Peace of Mind in the first place?”
“Oh,” you might begin. “That is when everything in my world is going okay and I have nothing to worry about.
Actually, that is a little backward. You see, Peace of Mind is when you are okay no matter what is going on in your world, not just when all the things in your world are okay with you. I have learnt that true peace of mind is not dependent on circumstances. It comes from the inside.
Things may actually be difficult and you may have concerns. For instance, you are facing impossible deadlines, your bank account is nearly zero, your feet are sore and your car has a flat tire… as my dear friend Gerry says. Obviously, things in your world are not okay.
But you are okay, even so! Does that make sense? I am merely saying that when you have Peace of Mind, you remain unruffled and confident and fully capable of dealing with life as it comes rushing at you.
Achieving peace of mind is essential for maintaining our mental and emotional well-being. When we are at peace, we are better able to handle the challenges and adversities that life throws at us. We are more resilient, able to bounce back from setbacks, and approach problems with a clear and focused mind.
There are many different ways to cultivate peace of mind in our daily lives. Praying, practicing mindfulness and meditation can help us to quiet our racing thoughts and focus on the present moment. Engaging in activities that bring us joy and fulfillment, such as spending time with loved ones, pursuing hobbies, or being in nature, can also help to promote a sense of peace and well-being.
In a world that is constantly bombarding us with distractions and stressors, peace of mind is a precious gift that we must nurture and protect. By prioritizing our well-being and taking the time to cultivate inner peace, we can live more fulfilling and balanced lives.
What gives you peace of mind?
